TROOP 175 - Welcome Message
Dear Scouts and Parents,

Welcome. We are glad you have either chosen or are going to choose Troop 175 to continue your scouting adventure. We are one of the finest troops in Broward County. Troop 175 is chartered by American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida. The Troop was established in 1977.

We are committed to a boy-planned and boy-run troop, with the guidance of adult leaders and parents. Our Scouts are active in pursuing their scouting goals, and our parents are involved in supporting a quality Scout program. By joining Troop 175, your son will have an excellent opportunity to develop his leadership skills, and he will experience many exciting activities and challenges. We emphasize making a difference in our troop and in our community. Many of our Scouts advance to earn Eagle. Troop 175 is dedicated to delivering on the mission of the Boy Scouts of America through a strong outdoor program. With weekly meetings, once-a-month campouts, summer camp and the Patrol method, the Scouts develop character, courage, become self-reliant, perform community service, and above all understand what it means to be a Good Citizen. In all activities, practicing the principles found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law is paramount.

Parent participation significantly enriches the scouting experience for both boys and adults. Many opportunities are available including: leading scouts in community service projects, teaching merit badge skills to scouts, supporting troop fundraising events, serving on the Troop Committee, assisting at campouts as an Assistant Scoutmaster. We encourage all parents to experience the rewards of scouting through participation in the manner of your choice.

On this site you will find some helpful information about the organization and procedures of the troop. We meet Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Communication is essential to a well-run troop. For your convenience, troop activities and announcements are updated regularly on this WEBSITE. You will also receive important information about the troop via email.

When you register with the Troop you will be handed orientation materials as well as the necessary forms to be completed. Please return the Application, Personal Data Collection Form, and Personal Health and Medical Record Form with your registration fees and dues.

We look forward to meeting you and sharing in an exciting year in Troop 175.

Yours in Scouting

Darrell Bradley, Committee Chairperson
Victor Duepner, Scoutmaster
